Description
This handguard ia packed with features! Highly skeletonized for light weight, yet rugged enough for daily ops. The top picatinny rail is slightly scalloped and has vent holes running the length of the rail at the 3:00, 12:00, and 6:00 positions relative to the gas tube to allow heat to escape when things get intense.
At only 1.56″ wide and softened edges, this handguard is comfortable to hang on to, allowing even the smallest hands to effectively c-grip the rail for maximum stability and fast target acquisition for follow up shots. Every surface of the exterior to ensure a uniform and flat surface. Then the handguard is black hardcoat anodized to Mil Spec requirements and then overcoated with black teflon to match our upper and lower receievers.
Installation couldn’t be simpler, either. Our 4140 steel barrel nut does not need to be indexed for gas tube clearance, and installs with a standard castle nut wrench to the standard Mil Spec torque requirements of 30-80 ft/lbs, but there really is no need to go over 50 ft/lbs. The anti-rotation “ears” on the handguard ensure perfect alignment, and finally, the grooves in the castle nut capture the lower mounting bolts, eliminating the possibility of the handguard “walking off” of the barrel nut. Just tighten to 25-30 in/lbs.
